Baseball is back. Spring tarining in Japan has started this week and we're so excited. I have to make a plan watching a baseball game in Hokkaido and the US.

My wife and I graduated from TEC English Conversation school last month. Actually, we started to learn an English in 2005. However, my teacher is leaving from Japan this month. He is an American and go back to his hometown. Thanks to his teaching, we enjoyed learning an English, American baseball and culture. I appreciate his lesson. Thank you and good luck!

I think New York city is a baseball town, because there are two Major League teams and some minor league teams in the city. So, we planned to watch a minor league baseball game around noon and a Major League baseball game at the night. That was two games on the same day. We headed to Staten Island south of New York downtown by subway and ferry boat. First, we watched the minor league game between the Staten Island Ferry Hawks and the Red Crabs. Actually, there was a Japanese baseball player, Yoshi Tsutsugo, who was power hitter, for the Ferry Hawks. We were lucky enough to get his autograph before the game and we watched him hit a homerun! We had a great time there.
After the game, we headed to the Citi field which is the home stadium of the New York Mets by ferry boat and commuter train. We bought the tickets by StubHub website instead of the official site of the Mets. Actually, The Mets gave up this season, because they lost too many games and so they traded some big name players to other teams. We bought tickets for infield seats at a reasonable price. In the game, we watched RHP Kodai SENGA who used to be a rookie with the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks in Japan. We were happy, because he pitched very well and the Mets won!
On this trip, we had a great time because we watched the outfielder Suzuki in Toronto, infielder Tsutsugo on Staten Island and RHP Senga in NY. We enjoyed canoeing, shopping and walking around there. And also, we tried the local food and beers. Everything was amazing. I’d like to go again and stay longer.
