Actually, we went to Togakushi in Nagano city in new year vacation (See, Blog 2/January). Togakushi is located northan part of Nagano city, and is high elevation. The snow clouds from Japan sea is long travelling and finally reach in the Togakushi. Thanks to high elevation, the snow is dry and really light. It's amazing snow, because it's easy to control skiing on the snow in Togakushi. You can also enjoy Togakushi mountains range and the northern Japan Alps at the top of snow resort.
In addition, Togakushi has a ancient mountain worship history, and there is a lot of really beautiful shrines. Actually, we visited the Togakushi shrine first time this year… and we enjoyed the buckwheat Soba noodles. Togakushi is also famous for buckwheat Soba noodles. Togakushi area provides pure water, pure air and good buckwheat, because it has a lot of snow, natural forest in there.
