After Hong Kong, we went to Newark with 14 hours flight. We landed at Newark, NJ around 10PM. (Newark isn't New York, however is located near New York) It usually takes much time to enter the US, because immigration is almost crowded, and the staff asks many questions, takes facial picture, and fingerprints. In this summer, it wasn't crowded, so we could pass quickly through immigration.
We stayed at Newark just one night, and then we went to Philadelphia by train in the morning. We had a spare time about half day, so looked around in downtown in Philadelphia. We visited penitentiary museum by subway and bus. The penitentiary museum was not too large, so we could look around inside with two hours. Philadelphia has a lot of sight seen spots in down town, someday, I’d like to stay in there with enough time.
Around 4PM, we went back to Union station for boarding Amtrak night train “Silver Meter No.97” bound for Miami in FL.
Before boarding the train, we could use the lounge in station for passengers using sleeper car and roomette car. It was comfortable. It takes 24 hours from Philadelphia ro West Palm Beach. We stayed in the train one night. My wife likes night train, because she got recovery the jet lag. We have nothing to do in the train, so we just sleep and relax. Our trains fee included the meal, dinner, breakfast, and lunch in the train. We could enjoy Americans beef in the dinning car. It was good memories.
