We went to Tomamu ski resort in Hokkaido last long weekend with my wife and her parents. That ski resort is located in central Hokkaido. It was easy acess just one hour train ride from the Chitose airport. (We didn't need a car) JR Tomamu train station is really close for ski resort.
We stayed at Tomamu two nights, and enjoyed skiing in three days. We were all happy to stay in Tomamu, because it has a lot of snow in there.(We could enjoy powder snow!)
At first I thought I was just going to be there to ski, but unexpectedly, I enjoyed much another attraction in Tomamu resort. There was a lot of good and reasonable resutrants, the Ice village which open just winter season, big swimming pool, also open air public baths in Tomamu resort.
