I left Osaka on January 6th in the evening and landed at Chitose airport in Hokkaido around 9 PM with my wife and her mother. We stayed one night at Sapporo, and headed to the Furano ski resort the next morning by shuttle bus. After a three hour bus ride, we arrived at New Furano Prince Hotel around 11 AM. The hotel was super busy, because it was a long weekend. Many people came to Furano for their vacation.
Furano is located in the center of Hokkaido, and has a lot of snow fall in winter. Furthermore, the snow in Furano is considered the lightest and driest, because it's really cold in the winter for the Furano area. After snow fall, you can enjoy no-tracked powder ski in Furano.
In Furano, it's freezing cold, but the weather was pretty fine. We enjoyed not only skiing, hot springs, but also seeing a beautiful view of the Furano mountains landscape while it was coverd with snow.
