We went to Aomori for skiing last weekend. We bought the flight tickets from Osaka to Aomori, and from Misawa in Aomori to Osaka with frequent flyer mileage from JAL. Our airplane landed at Aomori airport around 9 AM last Saturday, and then we picked up our rental car. After a one hour drive, we arrived at Towada Onsen ski resort around 11 AM. It was good condition on ski runs and also we could see a big mountains covered with lot of snow. It was really beautiful. This ski resort is not too big, but we saw a lot of Americans. They are members or their family are members of Misawa Air Force. There are American style restaurants, bars, and shopping centers in Misawa city. I was surprised, you can use US dollars there. It's very interesting. We flew from Misawa airport Sunday afternoon. We stayed just one night and two days in Aomori. I'd like to stay longer in Aomori next our visit, because the hot springs, ski resorts, local foods and nature are all great.
