Japanese Sake

We went to Fukushima for skiing and sightseeing last weekend. We stayed at Aizu Wakamatu one hour and half from Fukushima airport. Aizu Wakamatu is located in the western part of Fukushima prefecture, and surrounded by a lot of high mountains. This area has a lot of rice fields and rich spring water. So no matter where you go, you can find Sake breweries in Aizu Wakamatu, this is because there is so much rice and fresh water in Aizu area. There're many Sake brands, because these Sake breweries are not too huge companies, so some breweries are making Sake by hand. The Sake taste depends on brewery. You can enjoy a lot of taste there.

We visited a Japanese Sake brewer there. We could learn more about the Sake making process and enjoy tasting many kinds of Japanese Sake. We bought “Jizake” which is locally made sake. I like Japanese Sake more now than before. This one goes well with Japanese foods such as raw fish.
