Our trip started flying for Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, TX on Thursday morning (August/10th) with American Airlines, and then we changed planes for Washington Dulles International(IAD) Airport in Virginia. It was the first time we've boarded a International flight with American Airlines. The service was good, seats, meals, and entertainment. I liked AA. We landed at IAD around 2PM on the 10th, and we headed to the our hotel, Navy Yard in Washington DC by bus and subway. It was far. Finally, we arrived at our hotel around 4PM near by Nationals ballpark without any problems.
After checking in the hotel, we went to the Nationals Ballpark the home stadium of the Washington Nationals. It was the first time we've been there. Many guide books say it's really not safe around the ballpark, don't walk to ballpark, just use a car..., but I didn't feel not safe around ballpark. I think this area is getting better, due to the urban development projects by the government.
When we got inside the ballpark, the Miami Marlins were doing batting practice, and we saw the practice from out field seats. Before the Marlins finished they're batting practice, some out fielder threw some balls for the baseball fans in the seats, and I got one!! It's an official ball from MLB. Thank you!!
We watched the Washington Nationals play against the Miami Marlins. This was my first game in the USA on this trip. Our objective was to watch Ichiro from the Marlins. His role is backup in this season with the Marlins, and finally he didn't play in that game. We couldn't see him. That was too bad. However, we enjoyed the hamburger, local beer and also the baseball during the game. It was fun!
