USA2017 DAY5

We woke up at 6 AM on Sunday, the 13th of August and booted up my new laptop. At 6:30, we tried to make a reservation for the tickets to enter the National Museum of African American History and Culture, but in the end we couldn't get the tickets... The tickets were sold out almost immediately. We were devastated.

This Museum was newly opened the 24th of September in 2016 sponsored by the Smithsonian Institution. Now more and more people visit to the Museum. Although entry tickets are free, this Museum is so popular that you're required to make a reservation to get tickets....

Around 7 AM, we went to a small restaurant for the breakfast. We had warm french toasts with coffee. It was really cheered us up. After breakfast, we walked around President's Park and the White House....

In the morning, first we visited small and interesting the International Spy Museum. Next, we walked around at the Lincoln Memorial. Then we saw the Washington Monument. My feeling was good. I'd like to learn about Lincoln and American history.

We left Washington by the Amtrak night train, “Capitol Limited” for Chicago. This train leaves Washington Union station 4 PM, and arrives in Chicago the next morning. The Capitol Limited consists of a Bed room which we had reserved, Roomette sleeper car, reasonable Coach, relaxed Lounge car and Dining car. You can have your meals and take a shower on the train. Although the train ride was long –about 20 hours- , we enjoyed the train trip.
