Water supply system

I went to Aichi last Monday and visited Toyohashi water purification plant which they supply tap drinking water, because the water works in Aichi were open to the public last week. I joined the plant tour with engineers of that water works facility. Thanks to being a weekday, nobody joined the tour except me, so it was a really good experience for me because I had so many questions about water treatment. Actually, I looked around sedimentation tanks, rapid filtration facilities, slow filtration facilities and supply water pumps there, plus, asked many questions to staff of those facilities. Especially, slow filtration is a really rare facility in Japan because this system needs a large area, so this system is popular in large countries like America, Canada and Australia. I learned a lot about water works facilities including slow filtration systems.

After Toyohashi, I headed to Nagoya down town by Meitetsu train and stayed one night there. Last Tuesday, I gave a presentation about water supply systems and sewerage systems for engineers all day. My presentation went smoothly and now I can relax.
