I went to Gunma for a technical meeting last week by car from Shiga and I visited some ski resorts in Gunma and Nagano after the meeting. Our meeting went well and I had a good time in Gunma. Actually, last week after the meeting was 4 days off for me because I had to take a paid holiday.
Fortunately, we had 20 centimeters of new fresh snow in the north of Gunma last week and I enjoyed the powdery snow. Plus, my wife came to Suwa in Nagano last Friday night and we stayed there two nights. Everything; the hotels, restaurants and ski resorts in both Gunma and Nagano were very empty because we have a big problem with Coronavirus in Japan. The virus is thought to spread from person to person, however skiing is outdoors and not a contact sport. I believe skiing is safe compared to staying in town. I hope it will be back to normal soon.
