We went to Tsugaike Nature Garden in Otari on 17th July. Otari village is located in the north of Nagano prefecture and close to the Japan Northern Alps. There’re so many ski resorts and we often go skiing there in winter. It was the first time we’ve been to Tsugaike in the summer. I think there was a big difference between summer and winter there and they were very interesting.
Tsugaike Nature Garden is a national park located at high altitude and we needed to board two ropeways to go there. It took 40 minutes to get there from bottom. You can feel cool and see a very beautiful mountains landscape after getting off. There is a huge wetland and many ponds. We walked around the Garden about three hours and got refreshed. We could see many Alpine plants, butterflies and still some snow.
I want to visit again in fall, because the autumn leaves are amazing. I heard there is snowfall at the end of October, so we have to make a reservation in September!
