I had great time in Hokkaido

I took a week off last week, so I stayed in Hokkaido almost one week. Unfortunately, my wife couldn’t take any week days off, so she could only stay there for just the weekend. First, I drove to Nagoya and boarded the ferry to Tomakomai city in Hokkaido by Taiheiyo Ferry. On the way back, I drove onto the ferry at Tomakomai and sailed to Tsuruga by Shin-Nihonkai Ferry. Both the boats were over night ships and the facilities were gorgeous. My cabin was small, but very comfortable and featured, a wide screen TV, private bathroom and a balcony.
In Hokkaido, I stayed at Iwamizawa, Asahikawa, Jozankei, Chitose and Niseko and enjoyed skiing every day. I think there was a lot of snow compared with Honshu, but I heard it was less than usual in Hokkaido. I felt the spring has already arrived.
Last Thursday, I enjoyed skiing in Sapporo in the morning and after lunch I headed to Kita-Hirosima to watch a baseball game. It was the first time I’ve been there. The new ballpark was open this month and I watched the preseason game, Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters versus the Tokyo Yakult Swallows at ESCON Field Hokkaido. I had a great time, because it’s easy to watch the game up close. The stadium is so well designed the view for the fans is excellent. It was a good atmosphere like an MLB game. I got the tickets for a regular season game on the next Saturday there. I can’t wait to go.
I enjoyed a skiing, watching a baseball, hot springs and eating a lot of local food, so Hokkaido is nice place for sightseeing.
