Portland, OR and Fresno, CA 3

We stayed at Best Western hotel in Wilsonville. The day started with a short drive for Portland and we returned the rental car down town. We looked around down town on foot and by public transportation. The down town of Portland was clean, safe, active and not too huge. At lunch time, we tried food cart down town. There're many food carts and food small trucks in Portland. Some streets was filled with the carts and trucks. These carts provide many kinds of foods, humberger, Mexican, Asian, and European. We enjoyed Thai foods.

After the lunch, we went to Oregon Rail Heritage Museum. There're some huge locomotives inside the museum. The fee was free!, but we donated to a Museum. We had a couple of chances to talk about the locomotives and history in Oregon with volunteers in the museum. The railways in the US has a really long history and still a lot of lines in the US and Canada. It was a great experience.

And then, we took the light rail, bus and street car, and finally arrived at Portland Aerial Tram. There is a hill south of the down town and also the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) campus on top of the hill. This rope way(tram) carries commuters, customers and tourist between the bottom and top station. This was the view from the top of the station. It was so nice.

On the way to our hotel, there is a beer restaurant with brewery. Portland, OR is also famous for brewery and winery. This restaurant provide many kinds of local beers, of course, we enjoyed the local beer. Portland is a really nice place to stay, I think. I feel like staying there for many weeks.
