Portland, OR and Fresno, CA 2

At around 10AM, we checked out of the hotel and headed downtown in Portland by light rail (MAX). It was easy access to downtown, just a 30 minutes train ride from the airport to union station. It was really nice public transportation. In downtown, we enjoyed shopping a lot, because we didn't need to pay sales tax in Oregon state. We could buy everything at a reasonable price.

After shopping, we picked our rent a car up in downtown and then we went to Evergreen Wings & Waves Waterpark in McMinnville where is southwaest of Portland. There is a Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum in this park. This Museum displayed, the Spruce Goose (Hughes H-4 Hercules). This is the largest airplane in the world. This was built by Hughes aviation in world war 2 to carry weapons and equipments. The first test flight of this airplane was on November 2, 1947, however this plane was never to flown again. This plane had a lot of problems back then, and finally Evergreen Aviation & Space Museum is home of the Spruce Goose. This plane is dispayed in the center of museum, and is so large.

After visiting the Museum, we went to Volcanoes baseball stadium in Salem. We watched the minor league baseball game, Salem Keizer Volcanoes against Eugene Emeralds. This is the home stadium of the Volcanoes, an Class A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants. We enjoyed the game. I like minor league baseball games.
