This was the final day of the trip. We stayed one night and slept good in our bed room on the Amtrak train from Washington to Chicago. When we woke up, the train was running through Indiana state. In fact, the train was two hours delayed, so we arrived at the Chicago Union station around 11 AM instead of 9AM. We checked in the hotel in down town Chicago around noon and after had lunch, we enjoyed shopping in Patagonia and Columbia. We like the clothing companies. These shops provide good clothings and outdoor goods and everything in Chicago was more reasonable than Japan.
After the shopping, we headed to the Wrigley Field which is the home stadium of the Chicago cubs. This ball park is located in north Chicago. You can get there easy by subway, just a 20 minute train ride from Down town. I love Wrigley Field, because it has a really long history and keeps it's old style. It's beautiful and clean.
The game was the Chicago Cubs against the Cincinnati Reds. I wanted to see the Japanese pitcher RHP Koji UEHARA of the Cubs, but he was in DL when we visited Chicago. It was too bad, however we enjoyed the MLB game. Plus we talked to some baseball fans about the baseball, Chicago, American culture and Japanese culture. It was fun and we had a great time in Chicago.
