We visited Sapporo on the 16th of September to 18th. The weather was very nice Saturday and Sunday, but a big typhoon hit the Hokkaido on Monday. Some trains and flights were canceled due to the strong winds and heavy rain. We were planning to watch a baseball game, Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters against the Orix Buffaloes in Sapporo. But, there were no problems, because the stadium is inside the dome. We enjoyed the baseball game and Sapporo beers inside the stadium without any problems.
In Sapporo, there're many must see sightseeing places. I highly recommend the Sapporo Beer Garden Park. This park is really close the JR Sapporo station. You can get there easily by bus, just a 10 minute ride from Sapporo station. There is a really interesting museum and reasonable restaurant in the park sponsored by the Sapporo beer company as well. We learned about the process of making beer and industrial history of Sapporo beer. After the museum, we enjoyed Genghis Khan and Sapporo beer in a traditional restaurant. Plus we tried the revived version of the initial Sapporo beer. It was a really great experience. We love Hokkaido!
