We went to Hokkaido for our first skiing trip this season last weekend with JAL airlines and enjoyed skiing, natural hot springs and local foods there. Actually, there was a lot of snow in Hokkaido however it was not enough for skiing so most ski resorts still were closed. I checked a snow conditions every day on websites and about one week ago we decided to visit Furano ski resort, because this resort has a high altitude and opened a few ski runs. Furano ski resort had a lot of snow last weekend and it was enough snow for this time of year. In fact, there was still some bushes and small stones in the ski runs but we could ski and enjoyed long ski runs with 100 % natural snow. I injured my right knee two season ago but thanks to rehab I could ski without any problems. I felt we had a good start for the skiing season, plus we were happy because it was off season in November and the beginning of December, so everything was at on amazing price in Hokkaido. Now I'm thinking we should visit Hokkaido again for skiing this end of month.
