My wife, my friends and I went to Minami-Sanriku and Ishinomaki in Miyagi prefecture on the 20th and 21st August. We stayed one night and enjoyed the local food around the seaside. On Sunday, we visited the Great east Japan Earthquake memorial Museums in Ishinomaki city. These museums have exhibitions of the earthquakes and remains of the building damaged by the Tsunami. People have divided opinions about the ruined buildings exhibited in the museums. Some people think they should be removed. Others believe they should be preserved. However, I believe we need these artifacts to understand the Tsunami and Earthquakes in Japan.
Eleven years have passed since the big earthquake in 2011, but some people still haven’t returned to their hometown today. I hope everything in Tohoku area is back to normal as soon as possible.
