We went to Kobe Steel Kakogawa to enjoy the factory festival last Sunday. Kobe Steel is a major Japanese steel manufacturer and has its main factory in Kakogawa in Hyogo prefecture. We wanted to join the factory tour and look around the coke museum in the factory. There is no chance to look inside the factory and the coke museum on regular days. It's a must see on the special event day. When we looked around the making process of steel plates in the tour, we were overwhelmed by the large, loud and hot facilities. We learned a lot about the making process of steel and coke. Steel is made from iron ore and coke is needed in the making process of the steel. It was really interesting. Now, the economy of the iron and steel industries in Japan is in good shape. Steel is a key industry in Japan. So I hope this industry is prospering.
