USA 2019

Our trip started flying from Osaka to Seoul with Asiana Air lines and then we changed planes for Seattle. Around 11 AM the next morning we landed at Seattle-Tacoma international Airport in the US. We stayed two nights in Seattle and watched two baseball games there, one was a major league baseball game, Mariners against Rays in Seattle and another one was a minor league baseball game, Aquasox against Hops in Everett. We've been to the Mariners home stadium in Seattle many times before, but it was the first time we've been to Everett stadium. In general, baseball stadiums in minor league are smaller, but in other words it's really

close to the field from the seats in minor baseball stadiums. Plus tickets, food and drinks in the stadium are really reasonable so I like to visit minor league baseball games

After Seattle we flew to San Diego with Delta airlines. San Diego airport was very nice because it was not so huge and really close to downtown, just ten minutes by bus. Actually, we landed at San Diego at 10:30AM and around 11 AM, we checked into the hotel downtown. In the afternoon, we headed to the Imperial beach pier by bus and trolley train. This beach was very beautiful, clean and we saw many people enjoying fishing, swimming and surfing there. In this area, we saw many Mexican people, because San Diego is close to Mexico. I was really interested because I felt the atmosphere was really different between Seattle and San Diego. At night time, we enjoyed a baseball game, Padres against Rays in Petco park and also tried Mexican beers and food.

Next day, we enjoyed boarding a ferry boat in the San Diego bay and seeing the beautiful beach from the boat. Around noon, we headed to the Santa Fe depot Amtrak station in San Diego to board the Pacific Surfliner for Anaheim. This station was built more than 100 years ago and it's known as the terminal of Amtrak San Diego, but also has a long history and Victorian-style structure. We had a really good time there and I'd like to stay a few days more someday. It took just two hours from San Diego to Anaheim by Amtrak train, the Pacific Surfliner. Around 2PM we arrived at Anaheim Amtrak station without any problems. I think it's the best way to get to Anaheim because we could relax and sleep in the air conditioned car, the Pacific Surfliner train. It was really hot in the day time outside and we didn't need jackets there. After we checked into the hotel, we headed to the Angel stadium on foot, so it was walking distance between the our hotel and the stadium. Actually, it was the first time we've been there. The stadium was more compact than T-mobile park in Seattle and Petco Park in San Diego, but the color of the stadium was red and very beautiful. In Anaheim, we watched two major baseball games, Angels against Pirates and also watched the Japanese batter Shohei Ohtani. He is the DH batter and plays every game. In the stadium, we talked with other baseball fans about our trip, Ohtani, their home town and the Angels. It was a really good experience for us and we had a good time in CA.
