All players and coaches in the big league wear number 42 each year on April 15th and they call it Jackie Robinson Day. He opened the door to a new era in MLB, because he was the first black player to play in the Majors. That was in 1947. Back then, he was playing in the Negro League and was discovered by Branch Rickey who was the owner and general manager of the Brooklyn Dodgers. I recommend you should watch the film “42” if you want to learn about this story. There was terrible discrimination in the US long time ago, which Japanese people can't understand. This issue is a problem not only in the U.S. but in the whole world. I think we should respect each other.
