We went to Shiratori Kogen ski resort for skiing last weekend. It was our first skiing trip this season. We were originally planning to go skiing on the 8th December. But it snowed a lot last week in the northern part of Japan. So, we changed our schedule.
We woke up at 4AM on Sunday morning and headed to Shiratori by car. Shiratori Kogen is located north of the Gifu prefecture and it's a three hour drive from my home in Shiga. The highway was not crowded and we arrived there around 7:30 without any trouble.
We were really surprised, because there was no bush and no artificial snow on the ski runs. There was a lot of natural snow around the ski resort. The Shiratori Kogen Ski resort is not too big, but we really enjoyed our first skiing trip, because the snow condition was pretty good.
