Last weekend we took our first ski trip of the season. On Saturday, we went to Shirakaba 2in1 Ski resort in the central area of Nagano prefecture. There was very little snow, but thanks to the cold weather they could make artificial snow. So, we could enjoy just one trail and it was about 400m for beginners. I thought it was not bad for our first ski trip this season.
After this ski resort, we headed to Norikura Onsen west of Nagano prefecture. There was a very nice hot spring and we stayed at the Japanese Ryokan with hot springs for one night. The next day, we went to a nearby ski resort called Mt.Norikura snow resort. There was a mix of 90% artificial snow and 10% natural snow, but it was not busy on the chair lift. It was a great time, because we not only enjoyed skiing, but also the local food and Japanese sake there. We’re planning to go skiing next weekend too, I hope there is a lot of snow at the ski resorts around Gifu, Nagano and Niigata.
