Aomori 2

The next day we stayed at Shimoburo, which is the most northern hot springs in Honshu. Shimoburo hot springs contains sulpher and more minerals in natural hot water and the color of the water is white. It was so good. We enjoyed the hot springs and the fresh sea foods there.

On the final day, we visited Rokkasho visitors center for nuclear power plants and nuclear fuel cycles in Rokkasho village near Misawa airport. Actually, there are some nuclear fuel cycle facilities, such as a Uranium enrichment facility, MOX(Mixed oxide) fuel fabrication plant, Reprocessing plant and High-level radioactive waste storage center in Rokkasho village. You can get knowledge about the roles of the facilities in the visitors center. In fact, it was first time we've been there and I've never seen anything like this village before. When I entered Rokkasho village, we saw really beautiful parks, large roads, large houses, a large hospital, large factories and really big plants. I was really surprised because this village is located most north of Honshu and there were no industries long time ago. I understand this village's policy but I'm feeling something wrong with the nuclear power policy in Japan. We should take thought of energy and nuclear power in the future because Japan has no resources.
