I visited Nozawa Onsen ski resort last weekend with my wife and her mother. Nozawa Onsen is located in the north of Nagano and has a lot of snow in winter. That village has a small population and there're many high mountains, so it's typical of the countryside in Japan. However, thanks to its deep and powdery snow in winter, that ski resort is well known worldwide. Furthermore, there're many good hot springs around ski resorts, so it's a perfect place for skiers and snow boarders. In recent years, more and more foreigners, especially Australian skiers, visit there, because it's easy to access from Tokyo by bullet train. My wife and I enjoyed skiing there and my wife's mother didn't ski, but she likes watching snowy landscapes and mountains covered with snow. In Nozawa, it's easy access to get to the top of mountains in ski resort because there are gondola lifts from the bottom to the top of the mountain, so she could enjoy a beautiful scene from the top with us. We often visit Nozawa and usually stay at a reasonable hotel without meals and hot springs, but we stayed at a high class hotel this time, so that hotel provided an amazing service, like good meals, good hot springs and parking service. I think this is a nice thing to do every once in a while because everything was pretty good.
