Baseball is back in Japan. Yesterday was the first day of spring training for Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). Five baseball teams will start practice in Miyazaki prefecture and other seven teams will train in Okinawa prefecture for about one month. The Dragons, Hawks and Fighters have new head coaches this season. The pre-season games will start at the end of February and the regular season will start at the end of March. I’m excited and can’t wait for the baseball season to begin. On the other hand, some players have caught the new COVID-19 Omicron variant now and they have to stay in quarantine for a while. It’s too bad, because they want to train, but they can’t. I hope they will recover as soon as possible.
