We had a record snowfall last weekend in the northern part of Japan. In Sapporo and Otaru, all the JR trains and many bus lines are still shut down due to the heavy snow. The snowplows came and cleared the snow from the roads, but the snow was accumulating too fast and many cars got stuck in Sapporo. I heard there were lots of traffic accidents. I hope they will get back to normal as soon as possible. Everyone, Safety first!
Nagano prefecture had a heavy snow too and we enjoyed the powdery snow there. We were happy, because it was hip-deep on average 50cm and amazingly light. We had no troubles, because we use wide skies. However, some skiers or snowboarders got stuck on the ski slopes due to the deep snow. We can’t wait to this weekend too.
