We went to Gunma, and Nagano for sightseeing last weekend. Our trip started boarding bullet train "Nozomi express" for Tokyo terminal, and changed train at Tokyo for Takasaki. We stayed at Maebashi in Gunma on Friday night.
Next morning, we went to Takasaki station, and then boarded the scenic steam train "SL MINAKAMI" for Minakami. This train runs the Joetsu-Line from Takasaki to Minakami for two hours. There are many good places to see the autumn leaves along Joetsu Line.
That steam locomotive "D51 498" was once display at Gokan station in Gunma prefecture, however JR East company repaired, and maintenanced that car. This car has been running since 1988.
After boarding steam locomotive, we went to Shima hot springs by rent a car. It was best season to see the autumn leaves in there, I think. It was beautiful. We stayed in there just one night. The hot springs water, dinner and breakfast in the hotel were OK. I’d like to stay another hotel in Gunma someday.
