2018 UK 5

This was the final day of our trip in the UK. That day was very busy because we were planning to stay in London just one night, plus there're so many sightseeing places in London. Our one day trip in London started with boarding the underground trains in Waterloo station nearby our hotel. The underground means subway and there are so many subway, bus, river ferry boat and light rail lines in London. We didn't need a rental car there because the public transportation was pretty convenient no matter where we visited for sightseeing. So we bought a London one day pass at Waterloo station and that was pretty good. We headed to Royal Victoria station by underground and light rail and then we walked a couple of minutes to Emirates Royal Docks station. There is a Gondola lift over crossing the River Thames between Royal Docks and Greenwich Peninsula. We boarded the Gondola lift cabin from Royal Docks and enjoyed the London landscape from the air for about 10 minutes. It was an amazing view of the London city and River Thames for just 4GBP ( Thanks to the London one day pass we got a discount to buy one way tickets). After the Gondola we headed to Greenwich by river boat. It was the best way to go to Greenwich because there were a lot of traffic jams in London. We visited the National Maritime museum, Cutty Sark museum, Greenwich market and the old Royal Navy College there. I found everything had a long history and these are a must see in Greenwich. In the afternoon, we again boarded the river boat for London bridge city and we underpassed the Tower bridge on the boat. It was a very nice and unique experience. After getting off the boat we visited the Imperial war museum (HMS Belfast) and also got on the double decker bus a few times. We had a great time and learned a lot about England. I found they have a long history and it's beautiful, clean and safe in the UK. I learned many industries started from the UK and engineering in the UK has a long history. Plus, English people are proud of their engineers. On the other hand, I was disappointed that the English government didn't respect engineering I guess, they didn't support engineering and finally, other countries, like the USA, China, Russia and also Japan are getting better. I think it's important to support education and finance in the field of engineering.
