We were originally planning to go to Nagano for skiing last weekend, however most ski resorts were closed due to lack of snow, so we needed to change our plan for skiing one week ago. I think it's going to be a mild winter this season because Japan is affected by global warming and it is too bad for skiing. Finally, we went to Hachimantai, which is located in national park in Iwate prefecture for skiing last weekend by using JAL mileage. It was practically free, so I wanted to say thank you to JAL air lines.
We stayed at Hachimantai Mountain hotel one night with Rakuten points. It was practically free, so I wanted to say thank you to Rakuten and Hachimantai Mountain hotel. We visited Akita Hachimantai ski resort on Saturday and Hachimantai Shimokura ski resort on Sunday. Even Tohoku area has less snow this winter than usual, but both ski resorts had a lot of snow and we enjoyed 100% natural snow. After skiing, of course we enjoyed hot springs and a very beautiful view of mountains in Hachimantai covered with snow. We had a good time there and want to go skiing again this winter.
